Plaster work creates or restores an even surface on walls and ceilings. The right approach depends on the existing surface, the thickness required, and the intended final finish.
Wall plastering before the final finish
Plastering services prepare or restore a surface for its next finish. A small local patch, surface levelling and a full wall need different preparation and thickness. Share both close-up and wider photographs, along with the approximate area and the coating or wallpaper you plan to use afterwards.
Ceiling plaster and damaged surfaces
For ceiling plastering, access height and the existing surface condition affect the work. Loose material, recurring cracks or dampness should be assessed before applying another layer. Plastering does not resolve every underlying cause of damage. Preparation, layers, drying stages and the agreed handover condition belong in the scope.

Questions before booking
Does plastering include painting?
No. A paint-ready surface is prepared for a later finish. Any painting must be named separately in the scope.
Can damaged plaster simply be covered?
The cause and stability of the surface need to be checked first. Damp or loose areas may require preparation before a new layer is applied.

PLAN THE DETAILS
A clearer scope. A better starting point.
Plaster works for a planned final finish
A plastering enquiry should explain what will go on the surface afterwards. Wallpaper, paint and other finishes may need different preparation or handover expectations. Share the approximate area, the existing surface and whether the work is a local repair or a larger wall or ceiling. Close-up photographs show detail, while wider photographs help explain the location and access.
Preparation and drying stages
Before a plaster layer is applied, the condition of the existing surface needs review. Loose material, recurring cracks and dampness should not be hidden under a new finish without considering the cause. Preparation, layer thickness, edges, drying stages and the agreed finished condition all affect the scope. Painting and other finishes are not automatically included in plaster works.
